Steps To Follow

Academic Year Abroad

The best year of your life is about to begin!

PERSONAL INTERVIEW:

We invite you and your parents to participate in a personal interview with the King’s College International team, so you can access the programme. In the interview we will offer advice on the most appropriate programme and destination for you, based on your profile.

LANGUAGE LEVEL TEST:

Once we have carried out the personal interview, if you wish to go ahead with the registration process you will need to make an appointment to take a language level test. If your test results in a PASS, we will proceed to confirm the booking.

PRE-ENROLMENT AND PLACE BOOKING:

The pre-enrolment and place booking are done once the language test is successfully completed, by filling out and signing the registration form, the contract and making a down payment of €1,500.

DOCUMENTATION TO SUBMIT:

Once you have completed the place booking, we will inform you of the documentation that we require for selecting the college and the residence and/or the family:

  • One passport sized photo
  • Copy of your passport
  • Results of the last three courses completed
  • Letter of recommendation from the head teacher and a language teacher at your current school or academy
  • In the case of some destinations you be given a dossier to fill out

CONFIRMATION OF SCHOOL AND FAMILY:

Once you have all of your documentation, we begin with the search and selection of the school and family/residence. The first thing to be confirmed is the school, which will allow you to see the area where you will be studying, hence you will be able to start planning your trip. Host families are confirmed a few weeks prior to departure. We will send the information with your profile and your contact details and we will recommend you to contact the family prior to commencement of the programme.

PROGRAMME PAYMENT:

Programme payment is performed in the following way:

  • 50% of the total amount of the programme is paid once the school has confirmed it.
  • The remaining 50% of the programme total must be paid before the 1st of June.

PRE-DEPARTURE MEETING:

A few weeks before the start date of the programme we will have a meeting to provide practical advice, pre-departure help in planning the trip, finding out about health insurance, validation and so on.
